The new Hangout is a full service, open air restaurant and dining experience right on the beach in Gulf Shores. The restaurant has a full menu of Oysters, Shrimp, Fried Wickles (Alabama’s own pickles), Gumbo, Salads, Hamburgers, Sandwiches, Po-boys, Wraps, Fried Seafood like oysters, shrimp, catfish, crab claws and chicken fingers. There is even prime rib, surf and turf, fish tacos and a wonderful childrens menu. There is also a gift shop, souvenirs and a large inside bar that serves all of your frozen and tropical beach beverages.

Original Oyster House
701 Hwy 59, located in the Bayou Village Shopping Center. 251.948.2445. Known for being the original oyster house and seafood restaurant in Gulf Shores. This restaurant has been a staple of Gulf Shores and offers casual family dining and wonderful seafood. Daily lunch specials and dinners are available. They have a wonderful list of appetizers, soup, baked oysters, fresh catch and house favorites. Moderately prices and good service. All major credit cards accepted.

Mikee’s Seafood Restaurant
2nd Ave and the corner of East 1st St, right off highway 59, just a couple of blocks north of the beach. Open daily for lunch at 11 a.m. and serving dinner until 11 pm daily. Their appetizers range from raw oysters, boiled shrimp to potato skins. Their dinner menu is large. They have everything from fried shrimp, fried oysters, clam strips and a variety of chicken and beef items. Mikee’s has been around since 1987 and offers a great meal and good service at an moderate price. All major credit cards are accepted.

Gulf Shores Steamer
124 West 1st Ave., just one block west of hwy 59. 251.948.6344. The steamer is known for some of the best steamed seafood in Gulf Shores. This restaurant is voted in the top 3 by Southern Living Magazine and by USA Today. This is a Heart Smart restaurant that everyone loves to go to. Families love their large combination platters of steamed oysters, royal red shrimp, mussels and crab claws. The have salads, sandwiches and land lovers specials for those who do not care to partake of local seafood. Remember, they specialize in steamed seafood of every kind. They have a great selection of cold beer, frozen drinks and wine.

Lulu’s at the Homeport Marina
200 East 25th Avenue. Just on the north side of the intracoastal waterway bridge, on the east side. Lulu is named after the famous local singer, Jimmy Buffet’s sister, Lucy. This amazingly fun restaurant has a wonderful menu and wonderful drink list. You will love the varieties of Appetizers, Salads, Cheeseburger Baskets and sandwiches. There is always something do to at Lulu’s. All major credit cards are accepted. The atmosphere is casual and kids can have fun.
Bon Secour Area Restaurants near Gulf Shores

Tin Top Restaurant, Oyster Bar and Country Market –
17240 County Road 10, Bon Secour. Go north of Gulf Shores on hwy 59. Turn left on county road 10 and go about 6 miles. Tin Top is located on the corner of county road 49 and county road 10. 251.949.5086. This local favorite is one of the most casual local favorite seafood restaurants along the gulf coast. Tin Top has one of the most unique atmospheres of any Gulf Shores restaurant. They are open for lunch at 11 a.m. and are open until 9 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday nights, they are open until 10 p.m. They have the usual land lovers meals like great steaks and prime rib. Tin Top has wonderful appetizers like Fried Green Tomatoes, Sushi, Tuna dip and Stuffed Mushrooms. They have raw oysters, steamed and sauteed oysters. You have a good selection of fresh salads to choose from. Tin Top has what is known as “Chalk Board” specials. Dinner’s are excellent and generous portions. Ribeyes, Royal Red Shrimp, Seared Tuna, Pecan Encrusted Grouper are just a few of their wonderul meals. All major credit cards are accepted. Food price is moderate to moderately high. There is nothing too expensive on their menu.
